Parenting During
COVID-19

About

Preschoolers experienced unprecedented interruptions in schooling due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our goal with this research was to identify the various ways that families with young children coped with the COVID-19 pandemic at home and to investigate how these experiences might support children’s development. We were also interested in how children spent their time while they were at home. Children’s experiences at home during the COVID-19 crisis varied widely; as such, we aimed to identify

specific home experiences, like pretend play, that supported children's development during the worldwide pandemic.
