About Us

An accumulation of research shows the importance of early developmental interventions and experiences for everyday functioning, academic achievement, job performance, and overall well-being. Inspired by these trends, our research generally focuses on improving preschoolers’ readiness for school. We seek to identify cost-effective and sustainable methods to improve cognitive and social-emotional skills among children. One area that our lab focuses on in particular is examining pretend play and imagination as equitable tools for development in early childhood.
